Our Vision
We envision economically resilient and environmentally sustainable communities in Arusha District, Tanzania, where marginalized households—particularly smallholder farmers and pastoralist communities—enjoy the full realization of their human rights, equitable access to education, improved health and well-being, reliable access to safe water and adequate sanitation, secure decent and dignified livelihoods, and the capacity to withstand and adapt to social, economic, and climate-related shocks through inclusive, appropriate technology and innovation. This vision contributes to translating the African Union’s Agenda 2063: The Africa We Want into tangible realities for the people and advancing inclusive and sustainable development for present and future generations.
Specifically, Forecasted Africa envisions:
At least 70% of targeted communities actively participating in local development forums and decision-making processes.
Youth and women representing over 60% of participants in community engagement platforms, ensuring inclusive decision-making.
Improved accountability and service delivery by 20–30% in education, environmental management, and social development programs, based on monitoring indicators.
Evidence and knowledge from over 50 community-based research projects annually used to inform policies and local planning.
This vision reflects a future where development is co-created with communities, data guides decisions, and systems are strengthened to deliver lasting, equitable impact across multiple sectors.
